On Saturday, October 12th, Icelandic organisation VÁ Felag held a protest meeting in Seyðisfjörður against the proposed sea pen farming in the fjord.

Supported by Patagonia and The GSFR, the event was preceded by a powerful impact action where kayakers paddled through the fjord, drawing a line with emergency lights to symbolise their stance.

This action was captured in a compelling video set to Björk’s single, Oral, amplifying the message locally and internationally. The artist shared the video reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers, and the event received 180-200 people coming together to stand up for their fjord.
